This is a special department where a lot of tests are performed that need advanced equipments and high experience. Neurohormones and their metabolites, various vitamin and durg levels, aminoacids, some osteoporosis markers and parameters like homocysteine are assessed using HPLC devices. Atomic absorbtion spectrometer (AAS) enables us to work all sort of metal analysis, biological samples like blood, serum, urine, hair and biopsy materials making the use of FIAS and Zeeman ovens.
One specialty of the department is screening at offices. Phenol, hippuric acid, mandelic acid, 2,5-hegsandion, TCA and TCE tests are included in the routine working programmes. Special reference levels of exposed substances during reporting of such tests are also provided.
